CLEARWATER, Fla., Oct. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Saturday the 4(th) of October, more than 200 music enthusiasts rocked out in the historic Fort Harrison owned by the Church of Scientology to the rhythm of drum beats, guitar riffs, and vocals by eight local bands consisting of drug-free artists with the message that art can thrive without drugs.

The third annual "Rock for a Drug Free World" charity concert, sponsored by the Foundation for a Drug Free World (FDFW), Executive Director, Julieta Santagostino, said, "Our purpose is to bring awareness of the way the society is affected by drugs. Nowadays the message being spread is that if you want to be an artist, taking drugs is cool and normal. But that is a lie."

The evening erupted in the sounds of drug-free, bands and artists WD-HAN, Lions After Dark, Michael Graves, Rob Meister, Jades Goudreault and international performer, Stacy Francis. Rocking out in the name of a drug-free world were 200 drug-free enthusiasts, who raised enough funds to sponsor the printing of 10,000 drug education booklets.

"It was an incredible event for a cause that's very important to us," stated Spencer Barnes, front man of WD-HAN. "Making sure people have the truth about drugs is so vital and being able to support that with our music is something we live for."
