Ernie Anastos NY Fox 5 Interviews Eco Building Products' President About The Positive Change Towards Defensive Building Products And Practices
VISTA, Calif., Oct. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Eco Building Products, Inc., (PINK: ECOB) announced that Ernie Anastos of Fox 5 NY has conducted an interview of Eco Building Products, Inc. President & Chief Executive Officer Steve Conboy. Ernie says that of the two segments, one is called Positive Impact, and it has to do with people who are doing good things either in charity or in an organization, and he thought what Steve is doing at Eco has a positive impact on multiple fronts. We are being told that that particular segment of the show will air on Fox 5 NY on Monday, October 13 at 6pm EST. It can also be viewed on the web at: http://www.ernieanastos.com/positively_ernie.html
Ernie's show is also doing something about positive influence; it's the power of the media combined with education and it gives people the opportunity to learn and decide for themselves. Ernie commented to Steve that "I think that what we need to do is all work together so we can have more positive stories on the news so we can all learn and grow from that. The world is a lot better than we think." Recently, HOSS Magazine did a story on Eco and Steve Conboy. Lorie Steiner in her story said "Steve Conboy is a man of action - a passionate, fast-talking former New Yorker intent on changing the lumber industry, for good. As President & CEO of California-based Eco Building Products, Steve knows that when disaster strikes, be it Mother Nature or man-made, it's not enough to rebuild using traditional methods and materials, and hope it will stand up better next time."
In the last two weeks, Eco's President has engaged with two different State Directors of Disaster Recovery. On these conference calls, both parties have agreed that what Eco has been teaching and preaching has real merit. There should be new standards implemented with how grant and insurance money is disbursed and allocated for spending during rebuild scenarios; but more importantly, how recipients of this money should not be allowed to rebuild with building materials that are not defensive in nature. Recent rebuilds demonstrative of this scenario took place in post-fire regions including San Diego and Colorado, with no regard to the risk of wildfire taking place again in the future.
Noah Reandeau, Vice President of Strategy with Gordon Thomas Honeywell - Governmental Affairs stated that "At this time, we are undertaking activities that are going to provide significant support for Eco. First, we have been reaching out to states and municipalities in presidentially declared disaster areas that have received federal Supplemental Disaster Recovery and Grant Funding, and we have been explaining the importance of rebuilding stronger with defensive building materials. We have also found that these jurisdictions have been very receptive to Eco's offer to provide defensive building training for local builders, to ensure that they are aware of the new technologies that are available and the new techniques that can be implemented as best practices from other parts of the country (namely from your work in the Hurricane Sandy rebuild in New York and New Jersey, where Eco has, among many other things, built 'the most defensive home in America'). With your unique experience and credibility, we are finding that these jurisdictions really appreciate the personal time that you have been willing to spend in directly speaking with them. They rightfully view you as a key leader and nationally recognized figure that can help, and are really impressed with your background and credentials."
Steve Conboy, President & Chief Executive Officer of Eco Building Products, Inc. commented that "The Building Industry has to continue to evolve and adapt just like we did with construction hardware after the Northridge Quake. When pre-manufactured shear walls like Simpson's Strong-walls and seismic earth bond hardware systems showed up, everyone complained that they were overkill, but they then became the norm and more and more products came to market as result of this new building technique. When engineered wood showed up on the scene to replace the 2x12, the same reaction occurred. What few understand is that without engineered wood products, we never would have been able to keep up with our housing demand. If a guy by the name of Harold Thomas didn't show up on the scenes with the I-Joist, there would not have been enough 2x12. Now it's time for another change, and this change is about embracing defensive solutions of protecting lumber to keep rising tides out of homes. One of the biggest lumber buyers in the world says Eco Red Shield is not out to replace pressure treated lumber, it's just about providing Advanced Framing Lumber for interior use. Eco is targeting that 95% of the home that the pressure treaters have never paid attention to. At Eco we are out to educate the specifiers, contractors and builder; not the lumber guys. The reason we target the consumer and specifers is that the lumber yards are all still trying to recover, and until their customers demand this new Advanced Framing Lumber, they will just do status quo."
Eco is on a mission to work with builders and students of the trade that want to learn about the specifics pertaining to lumber related problems and how to build defensive against climate change storms. At this time, Eco has begun talks with the faculty and students of the Bronx Design and Construction Academy in New York. http://youtu.be/HILrMTv0t1g
Mr. Conboy commented further that "In closing, people ask me if I read the stock message boards, and I tell them I'm too busy, other than when someone sends them to me. We are now convinced, as our investigators are closing in on some of the sources, that these individuals are within the Industry and some actually work for companies that either produce or sell pressure treated lumber. Our goal at Eco is to remain positive and focused as we teach people how to embrace a new defensive approach to building with products like Eco's and others. These defensive products have been designed to defend them, their family, and their assets against future storms because most homes built up until now may or may not be able to withstand these climate change storms and floods."
