Broadway Comes To Temecula, September 22

TEMECULA, Calif., Sept. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cabaret at The Merc in association with Temecula Presents are pleased to announce a one-night-only Broadway concert by Academy Award-winning composer, Stephen Schwartz. On Monday, September 22nd at 7:30pm, Stephen Schwartz, the songwriter behind such Broadway hits as Wicked, Godspell and Pippin, will take the Old Town Temecula Theater Stage for the first time, joined by an all-star cast of Broadway performers!

Stephen Schwartz has contributed music and/or lyrics to The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Wicked, Godspell, Bernstein's Mass, Pippin, The Magic Show, The Baker's Wife, Working (which he also adapted and directed), Rags and Children of Eden. For films, he collaborated with Alan Menken on the scores for Disney's Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Enchanted and wrote the songs for DreamWorks animated feature The Prince of Egypt. Awards include three Academy Awards, four Grammy Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was recently inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame.

Featuring performances by Nicole Parker (Broadway: Wicked, Fame Becomes Me, Natl. Tour: Wicked, Regional: Funny Girl. TV: MadTV), Brian Justin Crum (Broadway: Next To Normal, Wicked, Grease. National Tour: We Will Rock You), Hannah Elless (Broadway: Godspell, Regional: Somewhere In Time, Bright Star), Ruby Lewis (National Tour: We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys, Grease, Gypsy, Regional: 9 to 5), Michael McCorry Rose (Broadway: Wicked, Natl. Tour: Wicked, Grease, Joseph...) and more, this is sure to be the can't miss event of the season!

In addition to the concert, which will serve as a fundraiser for Cabaret at The Merc, a special pre-show reception will be held from 6:00-7:30pm. Tickets to the reception are $25.00 ($30.00 at the door) and includes the following: Admission to the private reception, catered h'orderves, one drink ticket, and a starter pack of 5 raffle tickets to be used in the Silent Auction.
