Casio Jams At The 2014 DJ Expo With Its XW Series

Casio's Full XW Series Including Synthesizers, a DJ Controller and Headphones Set the Stage at World's Largest DJ Trade Show

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Aug. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc., an industry leading manufacturer of electronic musical instruments, will be participating in DJ Times magazine's 2014 DJ Expo. The DJ Expo is known as the world's largest DJ trade show and most-attended exhibition in the industry. On August 11-14, 2014, Casio will display its full XW series including the XW-G1 and XW-P1 synthesizers, XW-J1 all-in-one DJ controller and XW-H1 tough performance headphones at its booth (#316) in the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City.

"Casio is committed to providing innovative, high-quality DJ equipment to support DJs and music enthusiasts of varying levels," said Stephen Schmidt, Vice President of Casio's Electronic Musical Instruments Division. "Our rapidly growing XW series offers DJs a number of different musical tools to choose from. Whether they are starting to mix on our XW-J1 DJ controller or using the interactive step sequencer in our XW-Groove Synthesizer, this equipment offers unmatched sound quality and can create the ultimate club scene with the minimum amount of gear."

XW-J1 DJ Controller
In addition to the XW synthesizers, Casio will showcase the XW-J1 VJ/DJ controller, which is geared towards professional DJs. The unit is portable and extremely easy to use. It allows users to create custom remixes of audio and video from music players, smartphones, and PCs that supports OS X, iOS, and Windows platforms. DJs can mix music using the djay app, transforming their Mac, iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch into a full-fledged DJ application by using all the songs from their iTunes library to get ready to rock their next party with unprecedented ease. In addition, musicians can mix videos using the vjay video mixing app from Algoriddim GmbH, transforming their iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch into a mashup application for their music and videos.

XW-H1 Headphones
The XW-H1 tough performance headphones were also designed for DJs and on-the-go music enthusiasts as they are tough, lightweight, and combine high audio fidelity with superb usability. The headphones provide balanced, clear sound and were designed by audiophiles to reproduce accurate, natural sound across the entire audio spectrum. From crisp, clear trebles to rich, deep bass notes, the headphones meet the most exacting standards of audio quality so DJs and musicians hear music exactly the way it is intended. For encapsulated comfort and focused listening, the headphones feature comfort-fit ear pads that were selected through extensive testing to be comfortable to wear even during long mixing sessions. They also feature a detachable, tangle-free cable that makes it easy to store while on the move and a folding headband for easy portability and protection.

XW Synthesizers
Casio's XW-G1 Groove Synthesizer was specifically designed for the DJ and club performer providing an interactive step sequencer and a sample looper for digitally capturing performance patterns and external instruments; whereas the XW-P1 Performance Synthesizer is a 61 key performance synthesizer equipped with Casio's exclusive Hybrid Processing Sound Source. It provides screaming virtual analog monophonic leads and basses, drawbar organs, complex layers, stereo pianos, drums and more. With the sounds and real-time control, the XW-P1 offers a variety of advanced features and technological functions performing musicians need.

Providing everything from pulsing dance grooves to animated synth textures and arpeggios, the Step Sequencer in both the XW-P1 and XW-G1 is the first of its kind. With nine tracks for drums, basses, synths and chordal parts, four controller tracks for adding panning, filter changes and other animation to existing parts and eight patterns that make up each sequence; the user can build and mix their performance on the fly. Sequences can even transpose live from the keyboard, providing a completely interactive experience. The XW's unique six oscillator design can emulate classic analog synths, and create powerful leads and huge bass sounds. Tracks in the Step Sequencer can even drive other MIDI devices and computer applications including the iPad®.
