Tom DiCillo's Black and Blue Orkestre Releases Hurt Me Tender Video

World Renowned Director Creates Band, Brand, and "Ball and Chain"

NEW YORK, July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tom DiCillo and his band, The Black and Blue Orkestre, have released "Ball and Chain," a music video that accompanies the release of their new album, Hurt Me Tender.

The Black and Blue Orkestre is comprised of DiCillo and musicians Grog Rox (Die So Fluid)in Los Angeles, and Will Crewdson (Rachel Stamp, Adam Ant) in the UK.

The album, Hurt Me Tender is available on iTunes.

DiCillo used an innovative technique to shoot the video, as all three band members are continents apart.

"We made the video the same way we make our music," DiCillo said. "I sent the concept to Will in London, and Grog in LA. We are a band that lives by the Internet."

The video "Ball and Chain" is now available for viewing.

The album and the video were shot and assembled with a signature technology that DiCillo conceived.

DiCillo is known for his films Johnny Suede, Living in Oblivion, and Delirious. His film on The Doors, When You're Strange, was an international hit, winning a Grammy here in the United States. DiCillo has often cast musicians in his films, including Nick Cave and Elvis Costello, among others, and he has a strong rapport with internationally known recording artists.

DiCillo's films have revealed a steadfastly unique and original vision. He introduced the world to Sam Rockwell, Peter Dinklage, Brad Pitt and Catherine Keener, among others, and his seven feature films have received international accolades and awards.

Hurt Me Tender marks his official venture into music. And the video for the single, "Ball and Chain" is true to DiCillo's style and his musical roots.
