TORONTO, May 23, 2014 /CNW/ - CTV's ETALK announced today an exclusive partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures
Canada surrounding the worldwide fan premieres of the upcoming sci-fi
thriller Edge of Tomorrow. In a Canadian exclusive, ETALK's Ben Mulroney sits down with Edge of Tomorrow's leading actors Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, and director Doug Liman in London, England - delivering viewers unprecedented access to the
stars in advance of the film's theatrical release on June 6. The junket
leads-up to an international stunt, where Ben Mulroney will attend the
film's three-country, three-premiere, one-day red carpet event as the
stars race against time to meet fans in London, Paris, and New York.
Following the interviews in London, where ETALK will be the only North American outlet with an extended interview slot
with the stars, Ben will board a private jet with Tom Cruise and Emily
Blunt to attend the Paris premiere, before landing in New York for the
film's North American debut.
Bell Media Mix worked collaboratively with Bell Media Brand Partnership
teams in Television, Radio and Digital to create an exclusive
multi-media partnership with Warner Bros. for the film's release. ETALK's coverage of the Edge of Tomorrow launch will air across Bell Media's premium programs, channels and
radio stations. Canada's #1 entertainment show, ETALK, is the only Canadian outlet attending the Edge of Tomorrow international junket and the only Canadian representation at the
ground-breaking "red carpet repeat," fan premiere tour. Reporting from
London (May 27-28), ETALK's "Cruising with Cruise" coverage begins Tuesday, May 27 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and the CTV GO app. For two weeks, viewers can tune in for
exclusive daily content, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage from
Ben's whirlwind Edge of Tomorrow adventure - all in advance of the film's nationwide release on June 6.

"Coming on the heels of this week's Angelina Jolie exclusive, ETALK
continues to bring viewers closer to the stars - this time with
Hollywood's megawatt actors Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt," said Morley
Nirenberg, Director of Production/Executive Producer, ETALK. "Heading
into this summer's blockbuster movie season, ETALK's partnership with
Warner Bros. Canada for Edge of Tomorrow perfectly aligns star power with Canada's #1 entertainment brand."
"We couldn't be happier to work exclusively with CTV in support of Edge of Tomorrow," said Sandy Power, Vice President Marketing Canada, Warner Bros. "Their
commitment to sharing content across their network is the spirit of
true partnership and an exciting reflection of what can be achieved
when marketing and promotional ideas come together." The ETALK / Warner Bros. partnership was brokered by Bell Media Mix and included
multi-platform and multi-network support for "ETALK's Cruising with
Cruise Contest," which closed May 21, and grants five lucky Canadian
winners and their guests to board a private jet to New York City to
attend the North American premiere of Edge of Tomorrow. Bell Media Mix offered national exposure for the contest across six
participating stations in the following markets: Edmonton (104-9 Virgin
Radio), Montréal (Virgin Radio 96), Toronto (999 Virgin Radio),
Vancouver (The Beat 94.5 FM), Calgary (98-5 Virgin Radio), and Winnipeg
(301.1 Virgin Radio). The support is also paired with a series of
interactive and engaging contesting opportunities in select markets
designed to create street level buzz and generate local excitement in
anticipation of the official premiere date.
Edge of Tomorrow unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an
unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the
world. Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) is an officer who has never seen
a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to
a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself
inexplicably thrown into a time loop - forcing him to live out the same
brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again...and again. But
with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with
increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily
Blunt). As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated
encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy. For more
