CHICAGO, April 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- It is something a lot of us do when a friend from out of town visits Chicago. We take them to see all of the city's famous landmarks and exciting sights. But if they are a really good friend, we might give them something extra - a personal glimpse into of our own world living in the city. Often, these tours are the best of all.

That's the concept behind MY CHICAGO, a new half-hour local series from the producers of Check, Please! and WTTW Chicago. MY CHICAGO is a "talk show on wheels" in which alternating hosts Odette Yousef and Mark Bazer drive around Chicagoland, interviewing two famous, notable, or simply interesting Chicagoans who tell us about their life in the city. The series premieres on WTTW11 and wttw.com on Friday, April 25 at 8:30 p.m., its regular time slot.
Each edition of MY CHICAGO contains two stand-alone segments. Our "mobile set" is rigged with three cameras, and our guests and hosts, Odette and Mark, are inquisitive, fun, funny, and smart. The audience will experience authentic, unrehearsed conversation along a fun, lively journey into Chicago's diverse neighborhoods, where our hosts and guests may get out of the MY CHICAGO vehicle, giving the viewer a personal perspective they might never have gotten otherwise.
Guests during this inaugural season include New York Times bestselling author John Green; Illinois Supreme Court Justice Anne M. Burke; grocery store magnate Bob Mariano; Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle; Rep. Luis Gutierrez; local media triumvirate Phil, Dan, and Anthony Ponce; and many more. Visit wttw.com/mychicago for web extras, photos, additional content, and to watch the show.
Mark Bazer is the host/creator of The Interview Show, a live talk show held monthly at The Hideout, in Chicago, and occasionally at Union Hall, in Brooklyn.
Odette Yousef isa reporter for WBEZ, Chicago Public Radio, covering the city's North Side and the people who live there.
