MediaSilo Launches "Edit Companion" Collaboration Solution for Adobe Premiere Pro CC

New integration brings cloud-based collaboration directly into the desktop editing experience

BOSTON, April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MediaSilo, the online video sharing platform for creative professionals, today announces the launch of Edit Companion - a collaboration solution for Adobe® Premiere® Pro CC that enables editors to browse, retrieve, share, and collect feedback on media from within a single Adobe Premiere Pro CC content panel.

With Edit Companion, editors have access to a complete collaboration lifecycle inside of Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Users can browse and search their team's MediaSilo library within the panel, and import remote assets into their project with a single click. For existing MediaSilo users, this means that thousands of assets stored in the cloud can be available anywhere, directly inside their favorite editor.

"Edit Companion is all about making collaboration easier for professional video editors," explains MediaSilo CEO Kai Pradel. "When you need to retrieve media from a remote team, Edit Companion lets you do that without leaving Adobe Premiere Pro CC. No more toggling back and forth to web browsers, email, or FTP. It all happens from the panel."

"Our move to Creative Cloud has allowed us to turbo-charge the delivery of new features to Adobe Premiere Pro CC, enabling video professionals to create brilliant productions even more quickly and efficiently," says Simon Williams, director of strategic relations at Adobe. "With today's announcement, MediaSilo's Edit Companion combines the power of cloud storage from MediaSilo with the power of the desktop. Edit Companion brings MediaSilo's expertise with cloud sharing to the already-outstanding desktop experience of Adobe Premiere Pro CC."

Additionally, Edit Companion makes use of QuickLinks(TM), MediaSilo's review and approval feature that securely shares files with a list of recipients. Edit Companion will automate an export, upload, and share to collaborators and approvers. Once the reviewer has given feedback, Edit Companion will be able to sync comments back as time-coded markers on the original sequence.

MediaSilo will showcase the Edit Companion panel at the 2014 NAB Show in Las Vegas (April 7-10), where cloud-based workflows will be a central theme. MediaSilo will also present new iOS applications that provide a media review and sharing experience on mobile, as well as the next generation of the popular QuickLink(TM) sharing tool.
