Still not a hipster, Canada's pop rocking Aaron Peta announces he's 'Superman Too' on second album
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Aaron Peta, one of Canada's most
uniquely extraordinary pop rock and hip hop recording artists, is
announcing his second album - "Superman Too" - will release in spring
2014. The 12-track release is Peta's sophomore effort and follow up to
his critically acclaimed 2010 debut album, "I'm Not a Hipster."
"It's t-o-o because I already proclaimed I'm not a hipster and now on
this album, not that I'm taking it to the cockiness of a Lou Reed or
Kanye West, but there's definitely more bravado behind it," said Peta,
an Edmonton native.
Robare Pruyn, of art-rock outfit The Rose West, is slated to co-produce
and work as guitarist and background vocalist on the album.
"The passion and creativity that go into every song are palpable, "Pruyn
said. "It's hard not to get sucked into the sheer catharsis of his
music."
"Superman Too" features extensive vocal production from Mike Dmitrovic,
internationally renowned producer and owner of Toronto's Voodoo
Records.
"We made the choruses really big and exciting so that people would be
able to shout to them anthemically," said Dmitrovic. "There's nothing
that sounds quite like it, yet it's still very relatable and familiar."
"Superman Too" features Peta taking on an eclectic mix of themes
including partying to excess, struggles of relationships, rescuing
damsels in distress, selling out, shamanism, abstract imagery-infused
lyrical flows and more."Lyrically here," he said, "I came up with more
ideas about things that were going on in my life and commentary on pop
culture."
The album will also be co-produced by Ben Lindell, who has produced,
mixed and engineered music for 50 Cent, Wale, Kelly Rowland, Chromeo,
MGMT and many others. Gordon Grody, voice coach to Lady Gaga and Alicia
Keys, provides additional vocal pre-production.
Sound mixing is slated to be by Hakim Callier, producer, mix engineer
and owner of RemarkableMIX. Lyrical consulting is by celebrated poet
Michael Indemaio.
Peta is dedicating the album to the memory of his father who very
recently passed on. "He's the guy who introduced me to music, inspired
me to explore my creativity, and the only true superman I actually met
in real life."
The album's first single is "Rich Life" and its music video is now being
produced.
"Superman Too" will distribute digitally on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and
Bandcamp. For more information, visit www.aaronpeta.com.
