Renaissance Cleveland Hotel Hosts "Mrs. Parker's Little Piggy Luncheon" Charity Fundraiser
CLEVELAND, Nov. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- For many Northeast Ohio residents, the holiday lighting ceremony on Public Square, celebrations at the iconic Renaissance Cleveland Hotel and the image of Flick's tongue stuck on a metal pole in "A Christmas Story" are holiday traditions. Now, 30 years later, as the movie, "A Christmas Story", celebrates its anniversary, it will host a memorable fundraiser, "Mrs. Parker's Little Piggy Luncheon," at Renaissance Cleveland Hotel, Nov. 30 at 11:00am.
According to "A Christmas Story House" representatives, Ian Petrella (Randy), Scott Schwartz (Flick), Zack Ward (Scut Farkus), and Yano Anya (Toadie) have confirmed attendance.
In keeping with the theme, Renaissance Cleveland Hotel Executive Chef Brett Montgomery has created a menu right out of the movie. "We tried to make this as authentic as possible." The luncheon is, in fact, being promoted by A Christmas Story House & Museum as "an exclusive opportunity to enjoy a traditional meatloaf, mashed potato and red cabbage meal, just like Mrs. Parker made, while dining with cast members from the A Christmas Story movie."
Luncheon entertainment will be provided by Cleveland Play House and Near West Theatre.
Proceeds will benefit A Christmas Story House Neighborhood Restoration Project, a non-profit foundation established with Tremont West Development Corporation. The foundation provides public and private grants to projects that enhance and preserve the neighborhood surrounding the A Christmas Story House & Museum, for future generations to enjoy.
Tickets to the luncheon begin at $75 and are available online at www.AChristmasStoryHouse.com or by phoning at 216.255.6651.
