Media General Names James F. Woodward Senior Vice President

RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Media General, Inc. (NYSE: MEG) today announced that James F. Woodward has been named a Senior Vice President, effective immediately. Mr. Woodward will continue in his role as chief financial officer, a position he has held since 2011.

"Jim's promotion to senior vice president recognizes his outstanding leadership as Media General's top financial executive. Jim has guided the company through its recent merger and financing initiatives," said George L. Mahoney, president and chief executive officer. Mr. Woodward served as group vice president for Media General's former growth and performance group from 2009-2011. Before that, he was director of corporate human resources from 1999-2009. He was elected a corporate vice president in 2005. During his 30 years with Media General, he has served as staff accountant, audit manager, assistant controller of Richmond Newspapers, and manager of human resources systems for the finance department.

Mr. Woodward received a B.S. degree in accounting from James Madison University. He is a graduate of the Leadership Metro Richmond Class of 2009, a foundation board member of J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and president of the St. Thomas Church Endowment Fund.
