"I am excited to be a part of the Celebrate My Drive program, and to have the opportunity to positively influence thousands of teens," said Kelly Clarkson. "This program gives me the platform to engage with my fans in a unique way, and I look forward to working alongside State Farm to make a difference."
"Music is an influential way to reach teens," said Kellie Clapper, Assistant Vice President of External Relations for State Farm. "We know getting a driver's license is a major milestone in a person's life and State Farm and Kelly want to help celebrate with this new generation of teen drivers. As a leader in auto safety, we feel this is a positive way to help educate youth and their parents about teen driver safety."
The Celebrate My Drive program engages teens who are learning to drive in a supportive and positive way. For more than 30 years, car crashes have been the leading cause of death of teens and the purpose of Celebrate My Drive is to win this public health crisis.
More than 1,500 U.S and Canadian schools have already registered to be part of the celebration. State Farm and Kelly encourage teens whose schools are not yet registered to ask a school administrator to go online by October 17, to sign up and stay involved by making the commitment to safe driving during the seventh annual National Teen Driver Safety Week, October 20-26, 2013.
