NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- If the CMA Awards are "Country Music's Biggest Night(TM)," then the announcement of the final nominees is certainly Country Music's Biggest Morning with Sheryl Crow and Florida Georgia Line announcing the finalists for "The 47(th) Annual CMA Awards" from the world's biggest stage - New York City - on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
"I have been honored to have three CMA Award nominations in my career and I can tell you firsthand, the day the nominations come out is something every Country artist looks forward to," said Crow. "I cannot wait to read the CMA Awards nominations on 'Good Morning America' on Sept. 10, the same day my very first Country record is released!"
"We are super excited and honored to announce the nominees for this year's CMA Awards on 'Good Morning America'," said Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line. "Last year we attended the Awards for the first time and now to be able to make this announcement with Sheryl Crow is beyond anything we could have ever imagined!"
Crow and Florida Georgia Line will announce the final nominees in five CMA Awards categories live from the "Good Morning America" studios in the heart of Times Square on the ABC Television Network. The announcement will air in the 8:30 AM/ET half-hour segment of the morning news program.
Following the announcement, at 9:45 AM/ET, Crow and Florida Georgia Line will be at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square to announce the finalists in the remaining seven categories.
A three-time CMA Awards nominee, Crow is no stranger to Country Music's Biggest Night. She has earned nominations for Musical Event of the Year with Kid Rock for "Picture" (2003), "Building Bridges" with Brooks & Dunn and Vince Gill (2006), and "Coal Miner's Daughter" with Loretta Lynn and Miranda Lambert (2011).
A nine-time Grammy winner with more than 35 million records sold to date, Crow has added her first Top 20 Country single, "Easy," which is off her highly anticipated and critically acclaimed Country debut album, Feels Like Home, available everywhere Sept. 10 on Warner Bros. Records. Crow has a combined 40 Top 10s on the Billboard Hot 100, Adult Top 40, Adult Contemporary, Mainstream Top 40, Triple A (with the most No. 1 singles among women in the chart's 17-year history), and Hot Country charts.
The sizzling duo Florida Georgia Line has skyrocketed since releasing back-to-back, multi-week No. 1 hits in the U.S. and Canada with the Platinum-certified "Get Your Shine On" and five times Platinum "Cruise," which, combined with a remix featuring Nelly, has sold more than 5.5 million downloads. Comprised of Tyler Hubbard (Monroe, Georgia) and Kelley (Ormond Beach, Florida), the duo has broken the record for longest No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart with "Cruise,"the third-best-selling Country digital song ever, according to SoundScan. FGL is also the first duo in 21 years to top the Billboard Country airplay charts with their first two singles. Featured on their Platinum, chart-topping Republic Nashville debut, Here's to the Good Times, is their current Top 10-and-climbing single "Round Here."
Florida Georgia Line has scored opening slots for Taylor Swift's "The Red Tour" and Luke Bryan's "Dirt Road Diaries Tour." This fall the breakout duo will celebrate with their fans nationwide on their first headline run, "Here's to the Good Times Tour 2013."
