New York Musicians Show Solidarity With Inspiring "Boston Strong" Song/video

NEW YORK, April 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- When former Rosenbergs front-man and Huffington Post contributor, David Fagin got a call from his mother last Sunday suggesting he write a song for the victims of the Boston marathon bombings, he shrugged it off. "I didn't want to be a part of the ever-growing number of fakers that glom onto every tragedy," Fagin says. So, at first, he dismissed her request. An hour later, the song was complete and he called on his friend, pianist and 9/11 first responder, Jaime Hazan, to collaborate.

"Boston Strong" has received such a tremendous response, the duo decided to post it on iTunes and donate 100% of the proceeds to onefundboston.org.

"As an Emerson college alum, and having a lot of friends in the Boston area, I realized, if I could reach just a few people up there it would be worth it," says Fagin. "Then, when I began getting emails from the Watertown P.D. saying how much they love the song, I knew we'd done good. Now, someone who can't afford a big donation but who likes the song can buy it on iTunes for $0.99 and feel they're contributing."

"Our hope is that the song will not only help the city of Boston heal, but will send a broader message that terrorism in the long run will not and cannot win," says Hazan.

Nordstrom stores has already begun adding "Boston Strong" to their national in-store music rotation.

"Boston Strong" by Fagin and Hazan will be available for purchase at the iTunes store this week.
