ArtStir Denver 2013 - Memorial Day Weekend Marketplace for Colorado Artists







DENVER, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- ArtStir Denver 2013 is an all-new arts marketplace that will be held in the heart of Downtown Denver on Memorial Day weekend. ArtStir Denver will be held at Denver Pavilions and on the 16th St. Mall and will showcase local and regional artists with a lively blend of art, music, and style that is sure to "stir up" the artist in all of us. Featured works will include paintings, sculpture, photography, illustration, textiles, furnishings, mixed media, and more.

During the weekend-long event, Colorado artists and sponsors will gain exposure to a large weekend audience of all ages estimated at 75,000. Attendees can also enjoy musical performances, fashion shows, and a do-it-yourself art demonstrations. ArtStir Denver will also host a "locals only" Denver Day of Rock Stage on Saturday, May 25. In addition, the marketplace will provide emerging student artists the opportunity to showcase their work for sale and display for only $100. ArtStir Denver will be produced by Alem International from Louisville in a partnership with Denver Pavilions. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Colorado chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design. "ArtStir will celebrate and advocate for the value of art--design, music, fashion, and performance--throughout the Denver community," said AIGA Colorado President Elysia Syriac. "By bringing together artists, art enthusiasts, and supporters, ArtStir promises to be a vital cultural event for residents and visitors alike. It offers something for everyone. For us, it is a great way for people to learn about AIGA Colorado, it's mission and how we participate in the community. ArtStir Denver will be held along Glenarm Place between 15th and 17th Streets. It will run from Friday, May 24, from 4-8 pm; Saturday, May 25, from 11 am-8 pm; Sunday, May 26, from 11 am-6 pm; and Monday, May 27, from 11 am-6 pm.
