New York's Great Northern Catskills to Host Country Music Festival, Jam Fest and More in 2013
Greene County Music Festivals Attract Major Performers Throughout the Year
GREENE COUNTY, N.Y., Jan. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Great Northern Catskills of Greene County will play host to a variety of music festivals in 2013, including a brand new country music festival in June featuring today's chart-topping country music superstars.
Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain kicks off June 13 with three days of star-studded country music and entertainment. The festival features Lady Antebellum, Montgomery Gentry and Hunter Hayes, as well as Trace Adkins, Billy Currington, Joe Nichols, Gloriana, Justin Moore, Dustin Lynch, Blackberry Smoke and Willie Nelson & Family. Ticket packages start at $120 for all three days of live music. Early bird discounted tickets will be available for purchase beginning Friday, February 1 at 10 am on www.tasteofcountryfestival.com. VIP ticket options, mountainside camping, resort accommodations and more are available online.
Additional Great Northern Catskills music events for 2013 include:
Blues Hall of Fame Night at the Orpheum Performing Arts Center in Tannersville on February 16. The New York Blues Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Concert includes performances by Professor Louie & The Crowmatix, Bill Sims Jr., Michael Packer and Sonny Rock. Tickets are available at catskillmtn.org or at the door for $30.
East Durham Irish Festival at the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural & Sports Centre is scheduled for May 25 and 26, and promises to offer international entertainment, free camping and family-friendly fun. The line-up includes artists from across the country and Ireland. Past acts include Searson, Barley Juice, Andy Cooney Band, Kitty Kelly and performances by Irish Step Dancers. Tickets range from $12 to $16.
Mountain Jam at Hunter Mountain is one of the top music festivals in the country. The revelry kicks off June 6-9 with live performances by Phil Lesh & Friends, Widespread Panic, Gov't Mule, Primus, Dispatch, The Avett Brothers and more. General admission passes are currently available online at mountainjam.com. Three day, non-camping passes are $170 and four-day passes are $195. Four and three day camping and festival combination passes are available for $227 for the four day combined pass and $202 for the three day.
Catskill's Irish Arts Week in East Durhamis slated for July 14-20. Enjoy a week of Irish music, dancing, vendors, crafts and family-friendly fun. Admission to daily ceilithe, superstar concerts and afternoon lectures is free. Experience Irish culture and arts and participate in painting workshops, jewelry making, weaving and carving classes. The festival concludes with the Andy McGann Traditional Music and Dance Festival on July 20. Tickets are $20 at the gate.
