MIAMI, Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ CBeebies, the BBC's preschool channel in Spanish, announced today that it has joined the Facebook community in Latin America and the US Hispanic market as part of a strategy to offer parents and educators new ways to access its extraordinary content whenever and wherever they need, according to the market trends.
The Facebook page, titled CBeebies Latinoamerica & US Hispanic, is designed mostly for parents and seeks to strengthen ties with this audience segment by promoting dialogue in a space that allows them to share their experiences with the brand and the channel, as part of a community formed around the content and benefits CBeebies has to offer.
CBeebies' host Roser Cabanas, who supports the channel's mission of helping kids learn through play, also has a presence on the Facebook page. Her energy and enthusiasm have won the hearts of a growing number of fans.
The page features a photo gallery of CBeebies' characters and programming, as well as a direct link to the channel's website, where children can take advantage of games and activities to develop their abilities and parents can find information they can trust about childrearing and education.
"Technological advances are constantly transforming consumer habits, opening the door to new opportunities for reaching our adult audience on different platforms," explained Sergio Leos, Marketing Director at BBC Worldwide Channels Latin America / US Hispanic. "Our Facebook presence is a step forward in the process of guaranteeing access to CBeebies at the time and place parents want to find information about the channel. It's a way of increasing the benefits CBeebies offers consumers as one of the best known and trusted brands in the children's TV industry."
This initiative is part of CBeebies' digital strategy, which includes the recent launch of the CBeebies.com website in the US Hispanic market.
CBeebies invites the children of Latin America and the US Hispanic community to "learn through play," in Spanish, using music, movement, storytelling, drawings, numbers, simple science and natural history as tools to simulate the constant use of their imaginations and impart positive models of behavior. The channel's content mixes animation, puppets and live action in a wide selection of well-known, acclaimed titles such as Dibujemos con Squiglet and Boogie Beebies, as well as series such as Baby Jake, El Closet de Chloe, Zigby and Ave y Tres.
