What: HBO, Comcast and the ACLU of Virginia will
host the invitation-only Caroline County
premiere of the HBO Documentary Film THE
LOVING STORY in the community where the
Lovings first met and fell in love.

THE LOVING STORY tells the inspiring and
heartwarming story of Mildred and Richard
Loving, an interracial couple who married
in 1958 despite Virginia's anti-
miscegenation laws. Arrested by local
police in their Caroline County home in
the middle of the night for the crime of
"mixed marriage," Mildred and Richard were
later convicted on felony charges and
banished from Virginia. But the Lovings
fought back with the help of the ACLU and
ultimately changed history through a
watershed Supreme Court case that
overturned bans on interracial marriage in
16 states.

Details: THE LOVING STORY combines newly discovered
and never-before-seen vintage film and
photos of the Loving family shot in 1965
and a compelling present-day interview
with the Loving's daughter, Peggy,
neighbors, police and their young,
intrepid ACLU lawyers Bernard S. Cohen and
Philip J. Hirschkop. The attorneys argued
the landmark 1967 U.S. Supreme Court case
that finally brought justice to the
Lovings. The exclusive HBO documentary THE
LOVING STORY, the uplifting saga of these
unlikely Civil Rights heroes, debuts on
Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14
(9:00-10:30 pm ET/PT) during Black
History Month.
