Multi-Platinum Singer, Songwriter and Entertainer Toby Keith Signs Bottles of Wild Shot Mezcal at York Area Wine & Spirits Store
YORK, Pa., Sept. 14, 2011/PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Superstar Toby Keith will bring his Wild Shot Mezcal to York today and sign pre-purchased bottles at the PA Wine & Spirits Store, Crossroads Shopping Center, 351 Loucks Rd., York from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
"There are few names bigger and more recognizable in the entertainment and music world than Toby Keith, and we couldn't be more pleased to now welcome him as part of the spirits industry, with his new Wild Shot Mezcal," said Patrick J. "PJ" Stapleton III. "Our customers are always eager to try the latest products the industry has to offer and we're eager to bring Wild Shot Mezcal to them."
Keith brought Wild Shot Mezcal to consumers, to fill a void he saw in the market. Handcrafted from the Maguey plant, better known as green agave from Mexico, Wild Shot Mezcal 100% green agave offers a unique taste, complete with an agave worm at the bottom of each bottle. Similar to Tequila, this award-winning distilled spirit possesses a rich, smoky flavor, due in part to its unique "cooking" process.
Wild Shot Mezcal is available at Pa Wine & Spirits Stores in a 750 mL bottle for $39.99 and will be available for purchase at the store. The event tasting will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is complimentary for those 21 and older.
From his first single and No. 1 smash "Should've Been A Cowboy" to his latest album and Billboard Top 200 chart-topper Bullets In The Gun, Toby Keith has been one of the most consistent self-directed hit makers of his era. He's now in his 18th consecutive year having had a #1 single every year since his first release. His next studio album Clancy's Tavern will be available globally on October 24th. Already, the collection's lead single "Made In America" has become one of the fastest rising songs in a long line of chart burners from Keith's pen. In the history of recorded music, artists exhibiting that kind of consistency and longevity are in an exclusive club. Keith, however, may be in a class by himself.
At the core of Toby's unparalleled success is his songwriting, which has powered an astounding succession of hit songs. He has been the principle creative force behind songs that have competed and won at the highest levels of commercial music for nearly two decades - to the tune of more than 70 million spins on commercial radio stations nationwide. He has been honored by the Nashville Songwriters Association International with its Songwriter/Artist of the Decade distinction, and is a three-time BMI Country Songwriter/Artist of the Year. On its own, Keith's songwriting is a career beyond imagining, but it is also the foundation of a much larger entertainment presence.
His albums have sold more than 35 million copies, ranking him among the top-selling all-genre artists on Billboard's Top 200 Artists of the Decade. Keith is also Billboard's No. 1 Artist of the Decade and No. 1 Country Songwriter of the Decade. His tours, long sponsored by Ford Trucks, have drawn more than one million fans each year for the last decade. Toby Keith's Locked & Loaded Tour Presented by Ford F-Series will replicate the feat as it continues its run that started at the end of June and will run through October. And his roster of I Love This Bar and Grill restaurants continues to grow. These, among other endeavors, have earned Keith annual recognition from Forbes as one of the very top-earning entertainer/musicians in the world.
But Toby's most rewarding experiences, as exhibited in his continual devotion to them, come from giving back. Whether it's helping sick children and their families in his native Oklahoma through the Toby Keith Foundation or visiting American soldiers at forward operating bases in international war zones, Keith has never lost touch with the most important things in life. Surely that perspective and work ethic contribute to his ongoing success as a singer, songwriter and entertainer.
