Hollywood's 'Green Producer' Greg Reitman creates ROOTED in PEACE documentary and calls for Frendo's fee-free platform to help promote world peace
SANTA MONICA, CA, Sept. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Documentary filmmaker Greg Reitman urges us in his newest film project ROOTED in PEACE to take notice and
ask ourselves: How do I want to live? Along his film production
journey, the film team will be coordinating tree drives with the
charity One Tree At A Time to plant one million 'trees of life' and aligning with Frendo's
fee-free platform for giving in an effort to end the vicious cycle of
war and violence and promote world peace. This comes at a perfect time
being that September 21(st) is International Day of Peace.
Frendo is the first-ever fee-free donation platform for donors, fundraisers and charities that eliminates all fees
to charities so every penny donated ends up in the pocket of the
charity and not in the pockets of credit card companies and online
merchants.
ROOTED in PEACE is currently in post-production for what will be a
100-minute high-definition film released in 2012 that challenges
viewers to examine their values as Americans and human beings. "Today
we are at war within ourselves, with our environment, and with the
world," says Greg Reitman, award-winning filmmaker of the 2008 Sundance
Audience feature documentary FUEL. "By supporting One Tree At A Time
and our mission of planting one million 'trees of life,' we can say, 'I
plant the tree. I am rooted in peace.' and by aligning with Frendo and
their incredible fee-free platform for giving, we are moving a million
steps closer to the transformational process of world healing," Reitman
says.
Relying on memoir but also interviews with such luminaries and activists
as Deepak Chopra, His Holiness The Dalai Lama, music legends Donovan
and Pete Seeger, film director David Lynch, Noble Peace Laureate
Mairead Maguire, Ted Turner, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, world renowned
green architect William McDonough, neuroscientist Dan Siegel and many
others, the film reveals the consequences of us ignoring the global warming crisis, war and violence and urges us all to search for inner peace.
"Greg's genuine passion for his work and for a unified world is
remarkable, and Frendo is the perfect vehicle for him to tell the world
how we can come together, stop the cycle of violence, and proactively
seek ways to find personal and eco-social balance and ultimately world
peace," says Andy Quinn, Co-Founder and CEO of Frendo.
The team behind Frendo built a stable technology that is safe and secure
and gives people the chance to donate as much or as little as they want
to their favorite charities fee-free and on a regular basis. In 2009,
an estimated $30 billion dollars was donated online, yet due to various
fees which range from 1.75% to 8% over $1 billion in donations didn't
reach charities. Frendo is revolutionizing people's giving habits by
creating free marketing and promotional campaigns for charities
predominantly through social media rails. Frendo turns charities'
donors into fundraisers through instant connectivity to Facebook,
Twitter, You Tube, etc. and helps charities reach fundraising goals
with an endless cycle of giving through Frendo.
Frendo provides an online social platform that enables people to send
donations fee-free and securely to their favorite charities. This
platform is designed for people who are connected by their common
desire to take action and provide funding for worthy charities. Frendo
acquired Broker Processing Services, Inc. in 2010, a company with seven
years of experience in safe funds transfer. With offices in Fairfield,
CT and Calgary, AB, Frendo looks to be a leading source of online
connections for charities and their donors.
