NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- NAMIC (National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications) today announced that Geo-Strategist and Author, Parag Khanna will deliver the keynote address at the Opening General Session of the 25th Annual NAMIC Conference. Presented as part of Diversity Week, the conference is scheduled for October 4-5, 2011 at the Hilton New York in Manhattan.

Symbolizing the current multi-cultural, multi-tiered, multi-faceted state of media and entertainment, as driven by advancing technology, shifting demographics, and globalization, the theme for this year's event is New Media, New Voices, New World. The Opening General Session of the 25th Annual NAMIC Conference will be held Tuesday, October 4 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. ET, and precede a Town Hall Meeting on Diversity, which commences at 9:45 a.m. ET. "Dynamic content aligned with this year's theme is driving the conference agenda," said Kathy Johnson, President, NAMIC. Presently a Senior Research Fellow at the New America Foundation and Senior Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, Khanna is a best-selling author. His literary works include The Second World: How Emerging Powers are Redefining Global Competition in the 21st Century, and his latest release, How to Run the World: Charting a Course to the Next Renaissance. A Foreign Policy Advisor to the Barack Obama Presidential Campaign, Khanna also served as a Senior Geo-political Advisor to the United States Special Operations Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Named one of Esquire's "75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century" and one of 15 individuals featured in Wired magazine's "Smart List," Khanna received the honor of Young Global Leader of the 2009 World Economic Forum.
