TV Ratings for Detroit Lions Preseason Beats Important Detroit Tiger Baseball Head-to-Head Friday!

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- WXYZ-TV's coverage of Detroit Lions preseason football on Friday, August 19, 2011, from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. was #1 with Detroit area viewers! An estimated quarter million people tuned in for the second Lions preseason victory vs. the Cleveland Browns on WXYZ, Channel 7, earning a 9.5 rating/19 share in Households and an 8 rating/29 share in Men 25-54. The game also won the time period in all key demographics. The critical Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Indians baseball game, on Fox Sports Detroit, delivered a 7.3 rating/15 share among Households and a 5.4/21 share in Men 25-54. Even head-to-head, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., when game action from both teams was underway, Detroit Lions preseason football beat the Tigers game 8.3 vs. 7.9 in Households and 6.8 vs. 5.8 in Men 25-54.
