PHOENIX, Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Filmmaker, Austin Vickers, announces a compelling new psychological movie, People v. The State of Illusion, making its theatrical debut on Friday, Sept. 9 at the Harkins Camelview Theatres in Scottsdale. Purchase Tickets: http://www.harkinstheatres.com/theatreDetails.aspx?theatreId=4528&dateTime=9/9/2011

People v. The State of Illusion addresses the issue of whether people can really change, an important question at a time when so many are feeling anxious, depressed and upset over Washington politics and a depressed economy, and are feeling a loss of hope about the future.

"The problems people and our country are facing are serious," say Vickers, "not because they cannot be resolved with creativity and imagination, but rather because they are a consequence of patterns of thinking that are sick. If we don't address them soon, we could really create some disastrous consequences. The good news is there is a way out," says Vickers, "But we have to understand and start paying attention to the process or patterns of our thoughts, words and actions, rather than just the content of them. This is one of the central messages of the film."

Directed by award-winning Director Scott Cervine (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0148987/) the movie is set in the notorious "Old Main Prison" of the New Mexico State Penitentiary, and tells the story of Aaron Roberts, a single father who is arrested and tried on manslaughter and assault charges following an incident that claims the life of a woman. Included in the film's trial as expert witnesses are eight of the nation's leading thinkers in the fields of neuroscience, biochemistry, psychology, quantum physics, and consciousness theory, including Dr. Candace Pert, Dr. Peter Senge, Dr. Thomas Moore, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Debbie Ford, Dr. Robert Jahn, Brenda Dunne, and Dr. Michael Vandermark.

Both Vickers and Cervine will host a post Q&A immediately following the evening showings on Friday, Sept. 9 and Saturday, Sept. 10. To order tickets, go to:
