Real Housewives' Drama Dress Ends Up Helping the Homeless!
NEW YORK, May 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Last night Real Housewives of New York City'sAlex McCord made an unexpected and exciting contribution to a NoLita charity shop, Use Your Head, Shop for a Cause (262 Mott Street, NYC). At a fundraiser hosted by Real Housewives' castmate, LuAnn de Lesseps, Alex stunned the crowd by producing the now famous "S&M" dress that took center stage during a confrontation between her and Sonja Morgan in episode 2 of the current series. To the delight of everyone, LuAnn and Alex posed for pictures with the racy frock before it was whisked away by the thrilled shop manager. Kelly Bensimon was also on hand to show her support.
Says Alex: "I love this dress by Walter, and it certainly got my castmates and the viewers talking. Who would have thought a simple black dress in New York City would create so much excitement? I've now worn it on TV twice as well as a red carpet, so it's time to donate it and let someone else start her own conversation. Simon and I love supporting Henry and ACE, and that LuAnn was there hosting the event was the icing on the cake...or the detail on the dress!"
Use Your Head, Shop for a Cause is a boutique tucked away in Manhattan's stylish NoLita neighborhood, featuring a dynamic mix of vintage and contemporary designer clothing, shoes, accessories, and handbags, the store is designed to offer hip, fashion-conscious shoppers something fresh in a challenging retail environment. More than a traditional boutique, one hundred percent of our profits go to support ACE Programs for the Homeless. The dress will be on display in the Use Your Head window for a week before it will be auctioned off on charitybuzz to raise funds for the Association for Community Programs for the Homeless (ACE).
