Florida Producer Launches Season Two of "how to Do florida" Television Series

Florida Producer Launches Season Two of "how to Do florida" Television Series

LAKE MARY, Fla., May 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The half-hour weekly TV series, "how to Do florida," will return for its second season beginning on June 4, 2011. During the season, the show's host and Florida native, Chad Crawford gears up again to take viewers on a journey through the Sunshine State, showing residents and visitors how to get the most out of their Florida experience.

The Crawford Group, a Lake Mary, Florida-based media production company, created the show with an awareness that their hometown state is largely made up of a non-native population, including northern visitors who travel to Florida for warmer weather in the winter time.

According to The Census Bureau, 83.1 percent of Florida's growth from April 1, 2000 to April 1, 2010 was due to Florida's net migration, making it the state with the highest non-native born population in the US. With this statistic in mind, the producers saw a large demographic of viewers who where hungry to know how to get out and enjoy Florida.

"The show is all about getting viewers excited about Florida. I figured if I can show viewers the Florida I love, then there would be more people out there fighting to preserve it," said Crawford.

So, you can forget amusement parks and hokey city tours, "how to Do florida" packs its second season with breathtaking and exciting segments taped throughout the state, including information on how to "do" scalloping, crabbing, wreck diving, treasure hunting, tarpon fishing, house boating, sandcastle building, mountain biking and more.

Each episode features multiple destinations in the Sunshine State, two unique how-to outdoor features and a "Florida Cooking" segment with the State of Florida's very own culinary ambassador, Chef Justin Timineri. In season two, viewers can expect to learn how to create a variety of fresh dishes using Florida produce and seafood.

John Keyes, general manager of WFTV (Channel 9 ABC), said, "'how to Do florida' has been a wonderful addition to our summer weekend programming line-ups. The program has shown itself to be a good ratings performer and that it has the ability to hold its lead in. 'how to Do florida' is a well-produced snapshot of all that is great about Florida."

The high-definition television series is supported by sponsors, such as Gander Mountain, Visit Florida and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, who appreciate its goals of entertaining, teaching, and encouraging Floridians to actively engage their state. Using a how-to format, along with a touch of humor, the show informs and excites viewers about getting out and learning how to experience unique Florida adventures for themselves.

Cassie Yde, owner of Television Syndication Company said, "You never know what kind of response you might get when attempting to syndicate a new series, but the first season was a solid hit with stations and Season Two looks even more promising."

The 13-show season will air from June 4, 2011-August 27, 2011 in the following broadcast markets: Tampa (WTSP), Sarasota (WWSB), Miami (WFOR), Orlando (WFTV), West Palm Beach (WTVX), Jacksonville (WJXT), Pensacola (WFGC/WEAR), Ft. Myers (WZVN/WBBH), Tallahassee (WTXL), Panama City (WJHG) and Gainesville (WNBW/WMYG/WGFL). This season will also air on FOX Sun Spots from October 2011-March 2012.
