50,000 Facebook Fans Toast Gulf Coast with New Song

SOUTH WALTON, Fla., May 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- One year ago, there wasn't much cause for celebration or song along Florida's Scenic Highway 30A, a 20-mile stretch of pristine white-sand beaches tucked quietly between Destin and Panama City. But these days, the only talk of oil here is for sunbathing, and locals are reveling in the steady migration of visitors back to the Gulf Coast.

Kennedy (http://www.bryanswebsite.com), a Nashville singer-songwriter who moved to 30A three years ago, once opened concerts for the likes of Garth Brooks (and even wrote three of the country music superstar's #1 hits). But these days, he enjoys writing songs, plays and novels from a screen porch overlooking the sands of Grayton Beach, one of 30A's oldest and most beloved communities.

"I just love the pace here," said Kennedy. "When you pass somebody, you have a really good chance of knowing them and of visiting with them. There aren't too many places like this left."

Ragsdale said that they wanted the lyrics and video to reflect 30A's friendly, small town charm.

"We shot the video on my iPhone, so it's about as low-budget as you can get," said Ragsdale. "But it's sincere and authentic and heartfelt, and we're just happy that people are enjoying it."
