LOS ANGELES, Dec. 20, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Catch 22 Entertainment, a full-service film production, distribution and marketing company, has launched a bi-weekly, subscription-only newsletter to provide the latest updates, cast and filmmaker interviews, behind-the-scenes photos, stories and more for their feature film Beyond The Mat, a coming-of-age drama set against the backdrop of high school wrestling.

Adding significant heft to the newsletter's content are exclusive fitness and diet tips from Kurt Angle, Olympic gold medalist, six-time WWF champ, and TNA Triple Crown winner, who also co-stars in the film, portraying tough taskmaster Coach Kamen. Of further appeal to the wrestling community is the contribution of a regular column on high school wrestling news from the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA), a not-for-profit service organization providing support and leadership programs for high school coaches and athletes nationwide.

Currently slated for a 2011 theatrical release, Beyond The Mat chronicles protagonist Aaron's journey as he not only confronts issues regarding identity and coming-of-age, but also grapples with the meaning of friendship and relationships. The film has received official endorsements from USA Wrestling and the NHSCA. Ken Shamrock, a UFC Hall of Famer and four-time UFC Heavyweight Champion, who has headlined more than 15 main events in the UFC and Pride Championships, and set numerous pay-per-view records, also appears in the film, playing a color commentator in the wrestling match scenes.
