Metro Detroit Film Production Company Raffles Away 100 Positions for Feature Film Extras to the Public - Hires Homeless to Work on Film Crew

DETROIT, Nov. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Relative Time Films LLC presents the 1st Annual "Blue Carpet Film Network Event." This Blue Carpet Film Network Event is for producers, directors, film investors, actors, aspiring actors and anyone involved in the film industry. The event takes place, 4 November 2010 at the Elysium Lounge, 625 Shelby St, Downtown-Detroit, MI 7pm - Midnight.

Relative Time Films will conduct a raffle at the event for 100 film extras, which will appear in the comedy feature film, Casino Blues. They will also be scouting at the Blue Carpet Event for 8 paid featured-extras: Bikini Boxing Ring Girls, Secret Service Men and more. The event not only provides networking but also a means to grow the Michigan independent film industry. It also raises awareness about the homeless via the film, Casino Blues. Though a comedy, the film raises the bar on what needs to be done to help the homeless. The producer is working with a local homeless shelter to train residents to work on the film as Production Assistants. Tickets are: $30 on line - $35 at the door. Producers, directors and film investors with two or more IMDB credits get in free.

The event is hosted by Jay Towers - Fox 2 News Anchor and 100.3 WNIC Host, Mike Alan - 107.5 WGPR Host, with appearances by Channing Pierce Miss Michigan USA 2011. Tiffany Stone from the FM 95.5 sponsored TV show, On the List, will conduct the Blue Carpet interviews. Live music performed by The Electric Playground and more.

Why Blue? Michigan is a Great Lake State. "In Hollywood, they do red - in the Great Lake State, we do blue."

Film Logline: a despondent aristocrat-turned-homeless man becomes the last determining vote in the 2008 US presidential election. But instead of recasting his vote he pits McCain against Obama in three wacky contests - the best-two-out-of-three will be the next president.

Relative Time Films understands the independent producer (Joe the Producer) is the key to sustaining the film industry in Michigan, not Hollywood producers. Once one Michigan-made independent film becomes a major box office hit those in power will understand and support the Michigan independent film industry.
