HBO and Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California Present the San Francisco Premiere of WARTORN: 1861-2010, Personal Stories of American Soldiers

Leading Bay Area Experts In PTSD/TBI, & Neuropsychoanalysis To Discuss The Epidemic

HBO and PINC present the San Francisco premiere of WARTORN:
1861-2010, on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 10 at the California Palace of
WHAT: the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.

WARTORN: 1861-2010, from executive producer James Gandolfini,
brings urgent attention to the invisible wounds of war. Drawing on
personal stories of American soldiers whose lives and psyches were
torn asunder by the horrors of battle and PTSD, the documentary
explores the lingering effects of combat stress and post-
traumatic stress throughout American history, from the Civil War
through today, chronicling its effect on military personnel and
their families.

The Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California (PINC), an
international psychoanalytic Association (IPA), was established in
1989 as a center for comparative psychoanalytic inquiry, training
and research. PINC provides mental health professionals the
opportunity to study psychoanalytic theory, clinical practice, and
research.

On November 13-14, PINC will present a two-day conference to
advance the rehabilitation of traumatic brain injury patients
through psychoanalytic treatment and to contribute to the research
on the relationship between the mind and the brain. Our aim is to
expand the field of neuropsychoanalysis by applying psychodynamic
treatment to traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.
