'From Russia with Love' Festival of the Arts BOCA 2010, a Celebration of Russian Artistry in Dance, Music, Literature and Film, March 5-13, 2010

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- For centuries, the world has celebrated the artistry of Russian culture. Composers, musicians, writers and dancers with names such as Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Tolstoy, and Baryshnikov have inspired audiences. The fourth annual Festival of the Arts BOCA, to be held at The Schmidt Family Centre for the Arts at Mizner Park in Boca Raton, Florida, will take place between March 5th and March 13th, 2010.

"With a celebration of Russian artistry as its cornerstone, an unprecedented music and literature line-up, and the addition of both ballet and a cinematographic extravaganza, the 2010 program is nothing but awe inspiring," said Charlie Siemon, Festival of the Arts BOCA Chairman.

For its fourth season, the Centre for the Arts has once again collaborated with IMG Artists, a leader in worldwide cultural arts management including that of other major international music Festivals such as Festival del Sole (Napa Valley), Tuscan Sun Festival, and the Singapore Sun Festival, to align an impressive list of international artists.

The 2010 lineup includes:

-- Returning favorite and established Orchestra in Residence, The Russian
National Orchestra, at the baton of renowned Grammy Award winning
conductor, Patrick Summers.

-- One of the most beloved and celebrated musical ambassadors of our
time, Grammy Award winning Soprano Renee Fleming will perform an
evening of opera arias after her much talked about appearance in "We
Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial
Concert" and her celebrated performances in Beijing during the 2008
Olympic Games.

-- Alexander Nevsky, the historic 1938 film masterpiece by Sergei
Eisenstein with music by Sergei Prokofiev, will be seen and heard in
all its glory in a concert performance with The Russian National
Orchestra, accompanied by the majestic voices of chamber choir,
Seraphic Fire and Grammy Award winner mezzo-soprano, Kelley O'Connor.

-- The principal stars of The American Ballet Theater recognized the
world over for their regal style and hypnotic performances, Irina
Dvorovenko and Maxim Beloserkovsky, will take the stage to live music
performed by The Russian National Orchestra for a magical closing
night of dance.

-- Internationally celebrated piano prodigies Eldar Djangirov and Conrad
Tao are featured soloists in a night of celebrated piano music
beginning with Rachmaninov's virtuosic Piano Concerto No. 3 (featured
in the Academy Award winning film "Shine") followed by Eldar's
original works and standard jazz compositions all in collaboration
with The Russian National Orchestra.

-- In a special one-night-only event, Eldar will join forces with his
acclaimed Trio for an evening of Jazz pyrotechnics.

-- The 2010 Festival will also host a literary line-up with authors of
such magnitude as: New York Times columnist, David Brooks; famed
Presidential historian, Doris Kearns Goodwin; former advisor and
speechwriter to Presidents Kennedy, Johnson, and Senator Robert F.
Kennedy, Richard Goodwin; celebrate Julia Child biographer, Noel Riley
Fitch; gourmand, food historian and author of "Food: A Culinary
History," Albert Sonnenfeld; and much more.

Another important aspect to the 2010 Festival of the Arts BOCA will be the numerous community and educational components that will be incorporated throughout. These will include master classes with authors and performers, open rehearsals for students, and workshops that will give area students an opportunity to learn from the masters.

In addition, this year's Festival will also offer a number of free to the public events such as an afternoon "Film in the Park Series" with such recognized films as: Anastasia, From Russia with Love, and Doctor Zhivago.

Festival of the Arts BOCA kicks-off on the evening of March 5th, 2010 with the Future Stars Performing Arts Competition. Recognized as one of South Florida's premier performing arts vocal & dance competitions, its primary aim is to foster the exceptional young talent that is present in the local community.
