SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading videogames Web site IGN.com and Fox Television Stations will bring IGN's Holiday Buyer's Guide to viewers nationwide in "GameBreak! IGN's Ultimate Videogame Gift Guide," on Saturday, December 12th at 7:30 p.m.
A television adaptation of IGN's online holiday feature, the show will be presented on the FOX owned-and-operated stations in 18 markets. This is the latest move by IGN to extend its content offline and reach consumers across a variety of media and entertainment platforms.
"For the first time ever, IGN's Holiday Buyer's Guide will be extended from an online feature to a television special in major markets across the country," said Roy Bahat, President, IGN Entertainment. "A show dedicated to all-things videogames marks an exciting move for IGN - more proof that videogames are taking the pop culture world by storm."
Hosted by Jessica Chobot, from IGN's Daily Fix and Strategize online shows, the special will feature various gift ideas, highlighting category-leading games from IGN's Buyer's Guide, including: top sports, family, action and "couch-buster" games (designed to get gamers active and off the couch); never-before-seen game trailers; and more.
The show will also feature an in-depth segment highlighting the year's runaway hit, Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 2 from Activision Publishing, Inc.
IGN currently syndicates its video offerings to external partners, including Xbox Live, Yahoo!, Hulu, MySpace and more, and its dedicated YouTube channel currently ranks among the Top 100 YouTube channels of all time, with subscriber numbers surpassing Oprah, ESPN and the NHL.
