Cox Reps Adds Local Solutions Group to Cox Cross Media's Portfolio

Cox Cross Media designed to grow broadcast spot business through easy execution

NEW YORK, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Reps announced today the addition of a Local Solutions Group to its Cox Cross Media company. This group will specialize in multimarket broadcast advertising and provide direct sales solutions across the hundreds of broadcast stations within the Cox Reps organization. Cox Reps represents approximately 40 percent of all national spot advertising.

The Local Solutions Group will be led by Mary Barnas, vice president of Cox Cross Media's Local Solutions Group. In her new role, she will report to Steve Shaw, senior vice president of Cox Cross Media, and oversee staff in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago. She most recently served as executive vice president and director of local broadcast for Carat.

"Cox Cross Media is reinvesting its capital and organizing our talent and resources to grow the local media ad business," said Jim Monahan, president of Cox Reps. "We're excited to bring Mary's expertise and vision to our team. For more than 20 years, she has been instrumental in interactive planning and integrated buying."

The Local Solutions Group catapults Cox Cross Media forward as the only media sales organization to offer a comprehensive, easy-to-use platform for broadcast and digital solutions at the highly-targeted local level.

By providing ease of execution for spot advertising, Cox Cross Media will help draw new advertisers into local television. Advertisers and agencies now can conveniently work with one company to develop customized programs across multiple mediums -- from the campaign's development through its completion.

"Our new approach greatly reduces any complications or multiple layers associated with buying spot television. Our web-based approach, for both broadcast and digital, provides unprecedented ease of execution. Advertisers need to move their products and services quickly and efficiently. Our solution does this through one point of contact on a targeted, local level," added Monahan.

In addition to the new Local Solutions Group, Cox Cross Media is launching an updated website with advanced capabilities. Site visitors can easily plan digital campaigns via the online database. Cox Cross Media's content partners and site locations are easily located, and the site provides online resources to view the latest industry news.

Cox Cross Media delivers a national audience at a local level and represents more than 950 media websites for television, radio and newspaper properties. Since its launch in 2007, Cox Cross Media's sites have grown to reach 60 million uniques and 2.5 billion page views a month. The company has delivered targeted campaigns for a wide-array of advertisers, including American Express, Applebees, Centrum, Equifax, IKEA, Lexus, National Geographic, Panasonic, Staples and the U.S. Army, among others.
