MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Drowning in a Cesspool of Hypocrisy

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Drowning in a Cesspool of Hypocrisy

Maddow Ignores Anti-Obamacare Ads Paid for by Average Americans and Pro-Obamacare Ads Funded by Pharmaceutical Companies

ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- MSNBC's Rachel Maddow is misleading viewers on who is funding the anti-Obama health care ads, says the National Republican Trust PAC's (NRTP) executive director, Scott Wheeler.

The National Republican Trust PAC announced Monday a national television ad buy hammering official Washington on irresponsible spending and the trillions planned for government-run health care. NRTP accepts no corporate money and is funded solely by the donations from average Americans, mostly in the amounts of $25 to $50. During the 2008 campaign season, the Center for Responsive Politics noted that in just one month of activity, NRTP surpassed left-wing billionaire George Soros' MoveOn.org in independent expenditures.

"The American people are active and engaged in letting Washington know their strong opposition to the government's out of control spending habits, and the health care overhaul destined to bring America to its knees," said Scott Wheeler. "Yet, night after night for the past week, Rachel Maddow has focused extensively and exclusively on ad campaigns that receive part or all of their funding from special interest groups, telling only half the story and hiding the truth from her audience. She conveniently ignores NRTP and others who represent the true voice of the American people, because it does not fit neatly into her skewed point of view -- one that misleads her viewers." Wheeler also notes that the liberal talk show host "ignores the $150 million being spent by pharmaceutical industry supporting Obamacare," and called that omission "the ultimate in hypocrisy."
