Rock Out and Win Prizes at Wildwater Kingdom's Rock Band Rock-Off

Rock Out and Win Prizes at Wildwater Kingdom's Rock Band Rock-Off

AURORA, Ohio, July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Wildwater Kingdom is giving guests a chance to channel their inner rock star talent as they host the Pepsi Rock Band Rock-Off on Monday, July 20 at the Aurora, Ohio, waterpark.

The Rock-Off will invite both on-air contest-winners from KISS FM and in-park guests to test their skills on the popular video game Rock Band to win a variety of prizes including four LCD TVs, four Xbox 360 game systems and more.

Starting at 11 a.m., guests visiting Wildwater Kingdom on July 20th will have the chance to play with three of their friends on the Rock Band stage along the deck of the wave pool. Any band of four players can try their hand at the game during this open-mic time, but to qualify for the official contest, bands must show exceptional creativity and talent to a panel of judges. The bands with the highest scores or the most creative performances will qualify for the Rock-Off.

At 2 p.m., bands who have qualified in the morning session will be joined by contest-winners from KISS FM. Each band will have a chance to wow the crowd with their performance and rock star skills. Props will be available to make their performance memorable. The band that impresses the panel of judges the most will take home the grand prize of four LCD TVs. Second place will receive four Xbox 360s.

For some lucky bands, the rock star spotlight might not end at Wildwater Kingdom, though. Bands that perform in the July 20 Rock-Off will be able to upload their performance to the national Pepsi Drink Up. Rock Out. contest that could land them an award in the MTV Video Music Awards. More information and rules for the national contest can be found at pepsirockband.com.

Rock Band is a video game that allows players to perform some of their favorite songs in a virtual band that allows four to play at once on four instruments: guitar, bass guitar, drums and microphone. Players must then hit notes that scroll along the screen to "perform" the song. The difficulty can be changed to vary from Easy to Expert levels.
