60th Anniversary of 45 Single Celebrated by EMI Music With 'Digital 45' Campaign Launching July 14

EMI's Single Celebration Begins Exclusively on iTunes with More Than 35 Hits Bundled with B-sides & Replicated Label Art for Download Purchase

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the vinyl 45 single, EMI Music is launching a 'digital 45' campaign on July 14, bundling hit singles with B-sides and replicated label art for download purchase. EMI's digital 45s will be included in iTunes D45, a showcase for these new digital bundles on iTunes. They will be exclusively sold by iTunes between July 14 and July 27, after which they will be available for download purchase from all major digital service providers.

More than 35 digital singles will launch the campaign, including original 45 single A-sides and B-sides and top hits by Coldplay, David Bowie, R.E.M., Poison, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dean Martin, Duran Duran, Nat King Cole, Blondie, and Billy Idol, among others.

The 45 single, pressed on 7" vinyl, debuted in 1949 and is named for the number of revolutions per minute it takes to play the content on each of its sides.
