Leading Radio Marketing Company CRN International Wins TV Marketing Award
HAMDEN, Conn., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- CRN International, the leader in promotional radio marketing, recently brought its innovative local radio techniques to local television, winning a national media award in the process.
The CRN team received the honor for Best Use of Local TV at the 16th annual Mediaweek Media Plan of the Year Awards show Wednesday at the Rainbow Room in New York. The competition recognizes the year's best media plans as chosen by a distinguished panel of industry experts.
With the winning campaign, CRN has once again redefined promotional marketing. "We look at media as a blank canvas," said Dick Kalt, CRN's executive vice president, "so we bring a lot of our local-radio thinking to other media like television. Our approach is customized and comprehensive. It's hyper-local, authentically personal and creates trust. All of this produces measurable results. And it works across all media and markets."
The award-winning campaign launched the Clear Super WiMax wireless service in Portland, Oregon. As part of a multimedia local-market blitz, local-television news reporters offered personal product endorsements on air and broadcast news stories featuring interviews with Clear spokespeople and testimonials from consumers, as well as airing coverage of product demos from "mobile showrooms" and "human kiosks." These promotional elements were negotiated by CRN as added value from a strong television spot buy that included Super Bowl ads before, during and after the game.
"We reached them where they lived and worked," said Kalt, "we grabbed the public's attention and interest and leveraged that excitement into subscriptions. And they had to switch from existing providers to a brand-new service and technology, by the way."
Often recognized with awards for promotional radio and media planning effectiveness, CRN International has been helping national marketers execute local campaigns that deliver measurable sales results for over 30 years. CRN works directly with consumer products and packaged goods clients, as well as with their agencies. The company's television clients have included The Campbell Soup Company, Nestle and Nextel.
CRN's campaign for the Kirkland, Washington-based Clearwire Communications, LLC was developed in association with Applegate Media Group in New York.
