TelcoTV Conference & Expo seeks exciting content for what promises to be the greatest broadband TV event to date

IRVINE, Calif., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Anticipating an unprecedented interest in this year's eighth annual TelcoTV conference and exhibition, show management is making an early call for papers and speakers. As the challenges faced by traditional print and broadcast media put increasing pressure on broadband television to point the way forward to an exploding population of wired homes, schools, workplaces, and public buildings, TelcoTV has established itself as the No. 1 meeting place for the many stakeholders embracing this revolution -- most notably service providers. TelcoTV 2009 provides a holistic view of entertainment convergence, encompassing MobileTV, NetVideo, IPTV, and hybrid solutions. Anyone offering meaningful insight and analysis into this evolving world of entertainment convergence is now invited to submit their proposal to address this year's conference, which takes place November 10-12, 2009, in Orlando, Fla.

"Bigger and better are words that have not had much airing in the past 12 months, but we are expecting unprecedented interest in TelcoTV 2009," says Carolyn Herr, TelcoTV's Show Director. "Like a rock standing firm in stormy waters, TelcoTV has maintained high standards and a consistent business-oriented focus to one of today's most fascinating leading-edge industries. TelcoTV is the place where the converging ecosystems of broadband and entertainment meet and evolve, so anyone with ideas for making TV personal -- and profitable -- can't miss this opportunity to address the gatekeepers of tomorrow's entertainment world."

A preliminary outline of six topic groups has been established and proposals for any one of these track headings are invited, as well as submissions for other relevant topics. All that is asked is that proposals should be substantive and educational -- submissions focused on sales and product marketing will not be considered. Proposals in panel format are especially encouraged, together with suggestions for potential panelists. Track headings so far are:

-- Focus on the Subscriber - strategies to understand subscribers and
offer insight into how to meet their changing demands.
-- New Media: Managing a Brave New World - probing the implications of
new media, its dwindling threats and growing opportunities.
-- The Independent View - discussing TelcoTV issues unique to the
independent carrier's situation.
-- Video Technology Platforms: Putting the Pieces Together - exploring
the latest technology innovation available to TelcoTV service
providers.
-- TelcoTV Strategy: Defining the Winning Approach - insight into winning
business strategies for TelcoTV and broadband.

-- Conquering the Home: Life Beyond the NID - the challenges and
opportunities when service providers enter the customer premise.

The submission deadline is June 22, 2009. Further details on these tracks, the conference, and how to submit your proposal online can be found at: http://www.lightreading.com/live/event_information.asp?event_id=29081
