With its catalogue of 1,000 hours of programming, covering health, entertainment, life, culture and the arts, the new series will offer KyLin viewers more than 100 hours of new programs per month, adding significantly to what is already the largest Chinese-language programming platform outside China.

The new offering is comprised of five segments: "Classic Dramas", "Cultural Room", "Life Tips", "Health Care", and "Chinese Arts".

"Classic Dramas" features hit mainland dramas on historical and family topics. The epics Heroes Returning to the East and The First Emperor recreate magnificent scenes from history; The Royal Doctor, Big Dye House and Qiao`s Grand Courtyard detail the ups and downs of famous entrepreneurs.

"Cultural Room" offers a selection of specially chosen programs on Chinese culture, science, education and history, such as Doubtful Cases in the Qing Imperial Palace, Collection, The Common Memory, Image China, and The Rise of Great Nations. The topics range from historical discoveries to Chinese learning, while the format ranges from select documentaries to interviews with celebrities.

"Life Tips" will include a wide variety of programs on life, leisure, entertainment and travel. Helpful Tips for Housework, What Should You Do, Collector's Happiness, Palaces of the Qing Dynasty, and Chinese Character Writing Techniques, combine information with entertainment, to provide handy tips for making life easier.

"Health Care" invites noted doctors and other experts to discuss ways to enhance health. It will also present nutritious recipes. Prevention & Treatment of Common Diseases, Guide to Nutritional Supplements, and the Zhongjing Health Preservation Series will also focus on some of the secrets to remaining healthy.

"Chinese Performing Arts" offers a classic repertoire by established artists and highlights of Chinese folk art. The masterpieces include A Feast of Peking Opera, the Yue Opera Dream of the Red Chamber, and the Peking Opera Stealing the Royal Horse. Viewers will enjoy the powers of Quyi-style folk tales in Battle at Red Cliffs, A Collection of Li Jindou`s Xiangsheng, a form of traditional Chinese comedy, and A Collection of Shuanghuang.
