INSTALLS inc Awarded FCC Contract for Digital TV Conversions
Firm Wins Business to Help 'Underserved Populations' Transition to Digital TV
BUFFALO, N.Y., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federal Communications Commission has contracted with INSTALLS inc, America's leading in-home services company, to provide underserved populations in-home assistance for the government's transition to nationwide digital television. Beginning immediately and running through the end of June, INSTALLS will provide in-home converter box installation services (basic and expert) to more than 35,000 homes across the country - in 35 states - from California to Florida to Maine. Customers in need of assistance should reference the list of approved states and contact information at the end of this release.
"This win is especially significant because it mirrors our founding mission," says Thomas Hunt, President and CEO of INSTALLS. "We started our business by installing satellite/antenna combination services in rural areas that traditional cable television providers had ignored."
In addition, Hunt applauds the FCC's commitment to the HUBZone Program, as INSTALLS has been committed to and headquartered within HUBZones for more than 15 years. Lee Hess, Co-Founder and Chairman of INSTALLS, says, "Our commitment to assist these underserved populations, by employing people from these communities and providing services to them, has propelled INSTALLS into its role as the acknowledged leader in installation services."
"This award represents another major milestone in our growing government service segment," says John Nettina, Chief Operating Officer for INSTALLS. "Large scale deployments are nothing new to us. Our proprietary systems together with our disciplined and 'hands-on' approach to technician management are unsurpassed."
"Those qualities have helped us grow our business in all areas," continues Nettina, "but especially in our expanding commercial services footprint, including the enterprise-level, educational and government arenas."
