The Sports Network Raises the Bar on Sports Content Distribution

HATBORO, Penn., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sports Network (TSN), in the midst of growing pressures placed upon companies world-wide by the current financial malaise, has announced that it is raising the bar on the distribution of its content. "The bar," indicated Ken Zajac, Director of Sales, "is not intended to cause concern among potential clients of ours but, rather, potential applause and commendation. For much too long, there has been increasing tension and strain placed upon the marketplace by competitive offerings. Demands, not requests nor items open for negotiation, have been put forth and the subsequent constraints and unnecessary obligation have proven to be counter-productive.

"We will not," he continued, "by way of example, insist upon three year term contracts absent escape clauses. There will not be any incremental charges for alternate uses of our content unless they are from third parties and pre-approved by clients. Our revenue originates and remains with our fees and we do not include what is best referred to as "necessitous revenue sharing" from client created sources. We do not add costs to agreed upon third party charges organized by ourselves on behalf of clients. There are no increases in fees during the term of an agreement. And, it is our corporate paradigm that we have been entrusted with continuing to provide as much as we can to clients without increasing fees with every addition."

A media spokesperson for TSN, Maureen Galeone, further stated that the opinion of the company was that the present financial state of the U.S., affecting countries globally, is expected to continue well into 2010. Consequently, during this period, the most productive manner in which to proceed for news organizations, media such as radio/TV/print is to work with them rather than burden them further with excessive costs. "Fair costs," Ms. Galeone stated, "is the only manner in which TSN will operate. That has been the company credo for years and nothing will change that. Right now, it will only be emphasized to support and assist the many that are contacting us currently."
