Myko Secures Deal with Steve Rifkind's Universal/Street Records Corporation

Atlanta Urban Pop Singer Is Ready to Realize Lifelong Dream

CHICAGO, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- R&B's hottest newcomer, Myko, is preparing for his highly anticipated release on Universal/SRC Records. Led by the single "Give It 2 U," the song is already receiving major airplay in New York, Chicago and Atlanta. This is Myko's first release on the label led by CEO Steve Rifkind, whose credits include Wu-Tang Clan, Akon, David Banner and Big Pun. After gaining buzz in major markets and on the Internet, Myko is primed to make a lasting impression in the mainstream R&B world.

Moving to the Majors

Rifkind, an industry veteran and the founder of SRC Records, signed Myko after recognizing the strength of his singles "Late Night Creep," produced by Static Major, and "Spend Dis Bread" featuring Rick Ross. In his hometown of Atlanta, Myko has been received well by music aficionados and fans alike. Often performing at events that predominantly feature hip-hop artists, Myko often surprises people with his ability to serve R&B with a swagger that rivals any rapper. "... When I come in and start singing, it's like a shock," said Myko.

Burgeoning Career

In addition to the buzz surrounding "Give It 2 U," Myko recently performed at New York Jets Pro Bowl running back Thomas Jones' Pro Bowl party in Hawaii and is slated to perform both the national anthem and his own original songs at the Sony Ericsson Open tennis tournament in Miami on Sunday, March 29. The event attracts nearly 300,000 people and is covered by nearly 400 media outlets from 23 countries.

On the Horizon

In addition to his debut with Universal/SRC, Myko is continuing to work on follow-up tracks that will feature a host of talented contributors, including the amazing production of "Late Night Creep," from Static Major. Myko is also working with notables such as Atlanta's B-Rock on the track "Spend Dis Bread" featuring Rick Ross; Virginia producer Bink (Jay-Z, Freeway, Amerie, Rick Ross) on several songs including "Heaven" and "My Baby's Got It"; Grammy-award winner Khao (T.I.'s "Why You Wanna"); and Toxic. Songwriter Jason Desrouleaux, who has worked with Lil Wayne, Bad Boy artist Donnie Klang and Bettie Wright, has been working alongside Myko as well.
