Mix Nashville 2009 Announces Program Schedule
Second Annual Event to Feature Top Studio and Live Sound Producers/Engineers, Master Classes on New Technologies
EMERYVILLE, Calif., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- "Little Money, Big Sound," "Wireless Issues in the New Age," and the ever-popular "Anatomy of a Hit" are just a sampling of the program material announced by Mix magazine for the second annual Mix Nashville, a professional audio workshop/event being held May 19-20, 2009.
With two full days of programming, product exhibitions, and networking opportunities, Mix Nashville brings together the top professional talent in the Nashville studio and live production industries. Attendees, who last year came from as far away as Portland, Oregon, and Toronto Ontario, will be able to choose from manufacturer-sponsored workshops, new product demos, a songwriter showcase, and a full series of panels that tackle the issues most relevant to the Nashville community today.
"Nashville is a one-of-a-kind town," says Tom Kenny, editorial director of Mix magazine. "Last year, we did our research and found that the industry wasn't really giving Music City its due or the attention it deserved from the technology providers and, let's face it, the media. We were thrilled with the success of last year's event, and it only proved that what matters in Nashville also matters to the rest of the professional audio community."
In addition to the expert panels, manufacturer partners will outfit their rooms and provide workshop-type master classes featuring leading Nashville engineers and producers, as well as hands-on product demos. All rooms at the event are outfitted with Meyer Sound playback systems to ensure quality audio. This year, nighttime events are being added in local venues to supplement each day's program.
The unique content of Mix Nashville also offers a wide range of networking opportunities for pro audio manufacturers and end users, including an opening-night party at a major studio facility yet to be announced. Also this year, same as 2008, Mix Nashville precedes the popular local audio golf tournament benefiting the AES Engineer's Relief Fund.
Last year's event was attended by nearly 1,200 attendees from the Nashville professional audio community. Event programming featured appearances by George Massenburg, Steve Marcantonio, Andrew Kautz, Sharon Corbett, Robert Scovill, Buford Jones, and Grammy-winners Tony Brown, LeeAnn Womack, and Chuck Ainlay, among many others.
