WASHINGTON, March 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "WTOP Radio's Man About Town" Bob Madigan is spending his Friday evening on April 3 at the National Press Club, hosting Commedia dell Media and benefiting two causes close to the hearts of the performers: The Eric Friedheim Library at the National Press Club and Reporters Without Borders.

Madigan, who has been with WTOP for 15 years, has also been a New York-based NBC News correspondent, creating and hosting the award-winning feature, "The Money Memo" for NBC Radio Networks. He also was the morning news anchor for "The Source", NBC's Young Adult Radio Network and the host of national radio show Talknet, tackling topics from finances to fidelity.

"I find it refreshing when we can laugh with each other instead of at each other," said Madigan, a winner of an Edward R. Morrow Award, an Overseas Press Club Award, The Freedom Foundation Award, and a Deadline Club Award from Sigma Delta Chi, among others. "And with laughter being the best medicine, I hope this heals my seasonal allergies."

Commedia dell Media starts at 8 p.m. with a reception beginning at 7 p.m. in the National Press Club ballroom, 529 14th St NW. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door and can be bought at http://www.press.org/comedy. The line-up includes Matt Cooper, David Corn, Nancy Youssef, Mark Hosenball, Jamila Bey, Mike Walter, Scott Lanman and more.

The Eric Friedheim Library at the National Press Club provides cutting-edge training for journalists and assists with research for reporters, authors and academics. Reporters Without Borders is the international non-profit organization dedicated to protecting journalists' rights, fighting censorship, and promoting freedom of expression.
