KITV Helps Honolulu Drivers Beat the Traffic(R)

HONOLULU, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- KITV has unveiled its new and highly innovative traffic reporting system that will significantly help Honolulu drivers ease their daily commute. The station is the first local television station in Hawaii committed to bringing their audience real-time, data-driven traffic reports each week day morning. KITV has introduced their viewers to Beat the Traffic(R), a patented traffic solution and to its cutting-edge technology to provide a dynamic 3-D perspective of roads and highways displaying current traffic conditions through the region.

KITV 4 viewers, as well as KITV.com users will benefit from real-time traffic speed information on H-1, H-2, H-3 and several more significant highways in Oahu, which will help better plan their commutes and react to traffic problems. KITV's most up-to-the-minute traffic reports will be complemented with instant trip times on key routes such as Kapolei to Downtown Honolulu or Aina Haina to Downtown Honolulu.

KITV 4 will also report significant traffic incidents on other Hawaii islands, leveraging the ease of use and striking graphics of the system. In another 3-D graphical feat, viewers may expect to see a virtual billboard or two along the 3-D virtual thoroughfares of the mapping system.

"Traffic is a big challenge on Oahu because of our high density and our viewers can really use the help KITV 4 and KITV.com will provide using the Beat the Traffic(R) system," says KITV News Director, Tod Pritchard. "We chose Beat the Traffic because it is the only system providing truly real-time traffic speeds in Hawaii. The system is also very easy to use and is visually far superior to the competition. In addition, the team has been a pleasure to work with during their on-site training visit."

"We are very excited to partner with KITV to bring our traffic reporting system to Hawaii," says Andre Gueziec, President & CEO of Triangle Software, the operators of the Beat the Traffic(R) software. "It is the first system providing real time highway speeds in Oahu on TV, the Internet and the mobile web. It is a pleasure working with KITV to create this striking, user-friendly experience providing this valuable information."
