SANTA MONICA, Calif. and LONDON, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The New Music On Demand discovery site LP33.tv (http://lp33.tv/) today announced major additions to the company's management team. This is one of a number of significant changes to LP33.tv as the site rapidly expands.
Music industry veterans Paula Moore and Michael Rosenblatt join the LP33.tv senior management team, and also bring with them the Treadstone Music Intelligence business -- a research led A&R company with 150 Scouts across the US & UK. This is a continuing part of LP33.tv's commitment to create a leading entertainment and music industry service, improving the available offering not just for consumers, but also for musicians developing their careers in this evolving marketplace.
Michael Rosenblatt is a seminal and well-respected figure in the A&R industry, having been credited with the development and signing of Madonna, The B-52s, New Radicals and Augustana. Michael's industry experience is unprecedented; he has held senior A&R positions at WEA, MCA, Columbia and Sire & Geffen, and his artist signings have led to an excess of 250 million physical/digital album sales. Rosenblatt joins LP33.tv as Senior Vice President, Head of A&R.
Paula Moore has built a formidable reputation for her A&R methodologies, creating scout & research initiatives for Universal Music, Warner Music and BMG. Her recommendations and artist signings have sold an excess of 100 million records and include The Killers, Santogold & Slim Thug. Moore created Treadstone Music Intelligence to discover the most promising emerging talent independent of a record label -- and this company, with its 150 highly trained A&R scouts, is now part of the LP33.tv family. Moore will remain CEO of Treadstone Music Intelligence and will join LP33.tv as Senior Vice President, A&R Music Strategy, ensuring that the site engages the most promising and attractive talent on its video channels and partner networks. Treadstone's highly valued Youth Market Research will continue to be available to music companies, media and advertising agencies, and brands in addition to being used in-house by LP33.tv.
Michael Rosenblatt and Paula Moore unite with LP33.tv's founding management team, which boasts former top music industry executives from EMI Music, MTV and Virgin Music Group.
CEO Andrew Bentley says, "Paula and Michael, with their innate skills and tremendous knowledge of Artist & Repertoire, will be invaluable in crystallizing LP33.tv's goal of a unique artist-led music discovery proposition. LP33.tv offers music fans not only a wealth of new music, but a curated music experience unique from any other major music site." About Michael Rosenblatt
Michael Rosenblatt is a Partner in TMI, and a veteran music industry executive who has been on the forefront of talent discovery and acquisition for both independent (Sire Records and Geffen Records) and major (MCA Records and WEA) record companies consistently delivering hits for over three decades. Michael was seminal in the development and evolution of dance music becoming the foundation of today's pop music format by signing and developing Madonna, Soft Cell, B-52's, Depeche Mode, and Nitzer Ebb. He is also credited with the signing and development of the recording careers of The Pretenders, New Radicals, XTC, and Semisonic. Most recently, he discovered and developed Augustana, whose 2007 release sold more than 400,000 physical, and 700,000 digital. Michael's career artist signings have surpassed 225 million in physical and digital album sales.
During his tenure with WEA in the United Kingdom, the second most important music generating market in the world, Michael managed creative departments, business affairs, and administration with annual budgets exceeding 7 million pounds. He returned to the United States as A&R Head of East Coast for MCA where he was responsible for building the A&R staff, overseeing creative operations, and talent acquisitions. He expanded the Geffen Records catalog by acquiring and recording the original cast Broadway musicals "Miss Saigon" and "Les Miserables," and further developed a soundtracks division of The MCA Music Group which included blockbuster releases such as "Half-Baked" and "For Love of the Game".
Recruited by major Japanese investors, who recognized his ability to play a significant role in the new music industry, Michael left MCA to launch an innovative, all inclusive label model, preemptive to today's "360" label initiatives. While still ahead of curve, in 2006, Columbia Records invested in his foresight and funded his next label initiative which he expanded to management and production endeavors with established industry vets Tony Berg (A&R for Beck and Perfect Circle, Producer, Edie Brikell, PIL, Aimee Mann) and Eric Valentine (Producer, Good Charlotte, Smashmouth, Third Eye Blind).
About Paula Moore
Paula Moore is the Founder and CEO of Treadstone Music Intelligence. She has held senior executive positions, last post at WMG as Vice President of A&R, specializing in A&R Research and Scouting at major labels before launching Treadstone. Paula created and launched innovative scouting and research initiatives at several labels with 3 out of the 4 major label groups (UMG, WMG, BMG). While at Warner Music Group, her initiative was handpicked by the CIO to present at the annual international CEO conference and was slated for worldwide rollout. Through her methodology and concept development, Paula discovered she was identifying the most promising emerging talent that was more than one label or label group was capable of signing or investing in, and she developed a new company to provide intelligence on a wider scale.
Based on her innovative scouting approach to early artist discovery, Paula has recommended artists for signing consideration that have gone on to sell over 100 million records collectively, across several genres. Most of these recommendations were during just an 8-year period. The list includes Santogold, Trouble Andrew, The Killers, Twista, Drowning Pool, Rachel Yamagata, Secret Machines, Slim Thug, Ludacris, Sean Paul, and Forever The Sickest Kids, among others. The artist she most recently discovered, managed, and recommended for signing is Santogold, the breakout artist of 2008, and whose music is featured in the 2008/2009 Bud Light ad campaign; Ford and Converse have also launched new ad campaigns around her music. Moore has been the A&R Exec for several major label and independent label releases including critically acclaimed Handsome Boy Modeling School.
