COMEDY CENTRAL Records(R) to Release 'Bo Burnham' CD/DVD on March 10
NEW YORK, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Web phenomenon and soon-to-be film, television and radio sensation Bo Burnham brings his first full-length CD/DVD to COMEDY CENTRAL Records to be released on March 10. With a CD of 13+ of new material and hit favorites in addition to the best of Burnham's hilarious, irreverent and craftily-worded songs and a full DVD of his internet videos, "COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS" and other performances, this is the package that fans have been waiting for.
Before he reached his 18th birthday, Burnham entered the mainstream consciousness with internet videos (that have been viewed well over 40 million times) of him playing uproarious songs with ingenious wordplay and bad puns. This CD/DVD combination represents the best of his work to date. Burnham started teaching himself how to play piano and guitar during the summer before his junior year in high school. On December 28, 2006, Burnham recorded two of his songs as videos and posted them on YouTube. Eight months and seven songs later, Burnham's videos have been seen over 40 million times worldwide, generating literally hundreds of thousands of laughs.
Burnham has been tapped by Judd Apatow to write and potentially star in an upcoming film for Universal Pictures and when he isn't on set, Burnham will be touring the country, selling out shows from coast to coast. His first digital-only EP "Bo Fo Sho" on COMEDY CENTRAL Records sold over 20,000 copies in the first three months and continues to go strong.
Previously released recordings by COMEDY CENTRAL Records include: Christopher Titus' "Love is Evol," Mitch Hedberg's "Do You Believe in Gosh?," Dane Cook's platinum-selling "Harmful If Swallowed" and double-platinum "Retaliation," Grammy Award-winning "Lewis Black: The Carnegie Hall Performance," Grammy Award nominees' Steven Wright's "I Still Have A Pony" and George Lopez's "American's Mexican," Joe Rogan's "Shiny Happy Jihad", Norm Macdonald's "Ridiculous," Demetri Martin's "These Are Jokes," "Jim Gaffigan: Beyond The Pale," Mike Birbiglia's "My Secret Public Journal Live," D.L.
