Adios JLo and Hello TLo - The New Macarena is Cash Money Records' Artist T Lopez
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The same week MSNBC reports JLo is retiring from singing, radio stations across the nation are introducing T Lopez. She is the newest face of Cash Money Records, a label famous for major hip-hop artists like Birdman and Lil' Wayne, GQ Magazine's "greatest rapper in the world". The label is now crossing over as evidenced by newcomer Kevin Rudolph, who debuted in 2008 with his hit single "Let it Rock", and now T Lopez, the first ever Latina at the label.

The new Latin singing sensation is featured on IMC Records' newly released remake of "Macarena", the biggest selling Latin single ever on the Billboard pop charts. Now celebrating its 15th anniversary, or Quinceanera, the Spanish version of the remake has already debuted on stations like New York's WSKQ-FM La Mega 97.9 FM, San Francisco's KVVZ La Kalle 105.7 FM, Puerto Rico's WMEG-FM La Mega 106.9 FM and is making its way onto other major stations nationwide.
"We totally reinvented the Macarena with the help of The Art of Sound boys in Miami and artists like El Chino DreadLion (Yerba Buena) and Yeyo (The DEY), but were lacking that feminine touch, and thanks to Cash Money Records we found that in T Lopez," says Darius Jordi Lassus, president and CEO of IMC Records, Inc who came across T Lopez when she was in Los Angeles recording at Candor Entertainment Studios. Lopez rounds out an all-star roster of collaborators (Jon Secada and Oscar D'Leon, to name a few) in making "Quinceanera Macarena". The album features 8 original compositions like "Mi Gitana" and "Roberto y Natalia" and is available in Wal-Mart stores nationwide and iTunes worldwide.
Born in Ontario, California to Mexican American parents, Christina "T" Lopez proudly embodies the new Macarena, a girl who knows what she wants, by focusing on her long and short term goals daily. This week, T Lopez performs with Los del Rio and the rest of the Macarena gang on Don Francisco Presenta, hosted by Univision's most famed and successful primetime and late night personality, and then embarks on a promotional tour that will take her to New York, Miami and Puerto Rico before she rejoins the Cash Money crew in Phoenix for the 2009 NBA All-Star weekend, just in time for Kevin Rudolph's performance at the highly-anticipated Sprite Slam Dunk Contest (Saturday 8 p.m. ET, TNT).
