sweetriot goes to Sundance to Support Indie Artists

NEW YORK, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- sweetriot is expressing their ongoing commitment to indie film makers by attending Sundance Film Festival for the 4th year in a row. This year sweetriot can be found rioting in Park City spreading cacao at various green events and film screenings. In January 2006 sweetriot went to the Sundance Film Festival to share cacao and support independent film makers -- given they are independent, too! While at Sundance, they got the fever for independent film making and did their own independent film production entitled "sweetriot goes to Sundance" and entered it in the 2007 Sundance Film Festival. The film was officially selected to be featured as a short film at Green Festival in Washington DC in 2007.

Supporting emerging artists is not a new concept to this mission based candy company. The 100% cacao 'peaces' are packaged in recyclable reusable tins that feature art work by emerging artists. sweetriot is increasing their commitment to showcasing art as part of their overarching commitment to building a sweet movement to fix the world. Founder, Sarah Endline, states, "Artwork represents a way to celebrate culture and diversity in this world and is an important way sweetriot builds community." Additional information on sweetriot artists can be found at sweetriot.com/art. Submit your art today!

About original 'peaces' line: sweetriot is no ordinary chocolate -- this all natural treat is made from the actual cacao fruit. The nibs (little pods inside the cacao fruit) are extracted and dried in the sun. Then the nibs get dipped into three different intensities; 50%, 65% or 70% dark chocolate before being packaged into reusable, recyclable, collectable tins featuring the artwork of emerging artists. It's packed with antioxidants and is only 1-2 calories per 'peace'. At just 140 calories per tin, you won't ever feel guilty about eating it!

About sweetriot: sweetriot is creating a sweet movement to fix the world. sweetriot sources its chocolate in Latin America and uses recyclable, reusable tins which feature artists for its original 'peaces' line. The company organizes "sweet riots" to promote peace and 'more cacao for everyone'! This socially and environmentally responsible firm was nominated one of the 2008 World Blu's Most Democratic Workplaces. In addition, it is the first and only chocolate company to offset all of its carbon emissions and even offers an option to offset the emissions from the making of your chocolate! In 2007 sweetriot won the New Product Showcase Award at Expo East.

Celebrity Rioters! Hollywood is obsessed with this fix the world, healthy treat. A-listers from Sarah Jessica Parker, Drew Barrymore, Eva Longoria, Kevin Bacon and Harry Connick Jr. to foodie chefs Rachael Ray and Gordon Ramsay have fallen for these yummy 'peaces'.
