Multi-Platinum Recording Artist Seal Announced as Headliner for Destination Fashion 2009 Benefiting The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis

Star-Studded Gala, Featuring Runway Collection by America's Leading Fashion Designer Michael Kors, Will Take Place at Bal Harbour Shops in South Florida

MIAMI, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis is proud to announce that multi-platinum recording artist and three-time Grammy winner Seal will be the musical headliner at Destination Fashion 2009 on Saturday, March 7th at Bal Harbour Shops. The legendary Pointer Sisters will also perform. American designer and style icon Michael Kors will be in attendance to personally showcase his exclusive Fall runway show, presented by Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour, at this high-profile event in South Florida.

Honorary co-chairs for the event, Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones and his wife Dawn Jones, will join NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti, Barth Green, M.D., Marc Buoniconti, Gretchen Jordan, Suzie Sayfie and Stephanie Sayfie Aagaard as event chairs and will welcome a who's who of celebrities, philanthropic icons, business leaders, fashionistas and other South Florida notables.

Proceeds from Destination Fashion 2009 will directly benefit The Buoniconti Fund, the fundraising arm of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. The Miami Project is the world's largest, most comprehensive spinal cord injury research center and is a designated Center of Excellence at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

The March 7th event will also include the announcement of the 2009 Women of Substance and Style Awards, with each honoree being presented by a sports or entertainment celebrity. The Barth A. Green Spirit Award will be given to golf legend Jack Nicklaus and The Buoniconti Fund Award will be presented to Stanley Whitman of Bal Harbour Shops.

Guests will party through the "Decades: 70's, 80's, 90's and Today" in Bal Harbour Shops and will be dazzled as they feast on international cuisine, relish the unique and spectacular live interactive entertainment and have the opportunity to bid on the magnificent "Too Good to Be Silent" auction items donated by the Bal Harbour Shops and The Buoniconti Fund.
