Cross MediaWorks Acquires Hispanic Media Giant
NEW YORK, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Cross MediaWorks continues to see explosive growth with the acquisition of the Hispanic Independent Television Sales (HITS) and Azteca America businesses from the trustee in the Interep bankruptcy proceedings. The acquisition positions Cross MediaWorks as the leading representative of Hispanic media.
Marc Krigsman, Cross MediaWorks CEO says the purchase is a sign of the positive things that are happening within the company; "We are delighted about the addition of HITS and Azteca America because of their successes in developing the Hispanic market as well as the unique opportunity to add their first-class national and spot sales team. Cross MediaWorks and its family of companies is dramatically expanding its reach into the Hispanic media marketplace, which will provide new opportunities for our clients and our company. This is an exciting way for us to begin 2009."
According to Larry Rubin, COO of Cross MediaWorks, change is good; "The media world continues to evolve and change and at Cross MediaWorks we're committed to staying ahead of those changes in order for our clients to succeed. This should be a clear message to our clients that we are doing everything we can to give them the best opportunities available. These are very exciting times for everyone in or connected with Cross MediaWorks."
HITS was formed in 2007 to provide national ad sales representation to independent Hispanic Television stations and networks, helping them capitalize on advertisers' growing interest in reaching that burgeoning consumer segment. HITS represents television stations in every major Hispanic market along with national media that includes 13 cable networks.
Cross MediaWorks is a leading multi-platform media firm that manages an array of media on a targeted and measured basis. Key segments of Cross MediaWorks' business include representation of linear and unwired networks, long-form and short-form broadcast, satellite and cable inventory as well as video-on-demand and on-line properties. In addition, CMW provides a full array of creative services and "go-to-market" strategies for companies in a variety of industries. With the addition of HITS/Azteca, Cross MediaWorks becomes the nation's largest Hispanic media representation firm.
